My current project needs to use new native 3D in Flash Player 10. It seems so easy to use it, just set any 3d property like x,y,z or rotationX, rotationY, rotationZ and all should work perfectly. It seems so. But I have found problem and it seems it’s Flash player bug (I hope someone proves me wrong ). I need to change field of view of some DisplayObject to have different perspective as it is set by default. So I’ve done it in way

var pp:PerspectiveProjection = new PerspectiveProjection();
pp.fieldOfView = 11;
 
this.transform.perspectiveProjection = pp;

it’s easy and it works. But problem is, that after setting of perspectiveProjection all children interactivity (mouse click, rollovers and rollouts) stops working and this is really big issue. I’ve tried everything I know to prevent this, but I could not make it work. So I’m trying to write this post to get help on this (if it is possible).

Let me know if you have similar problem and please vote for Adobe bug(s) I will post later to let Adobe fix it ASAP.

I’ve found out today, that there is no longer FlashDen.net, but instead there is new site in Envato network called ActiveDen. It’s same site, but Adobe has asked Envato to change the name because “Flash” is registered trademark of Adobe. And there are also Flex files on ActiveDen, so there are no more just pure Flash files, so it’s maybe better name now.

Yesterday, I’ve posted about interesting AS3 Class InteractivePNG, and now I’m adding new addition for solving other problem with transparent Bitmaps. If you have transparent bitmap with whitespace around image and you want to crop whitespace around “real” image, you can use this function…

	bmd2.draw(bmd, new Matrix(1,0,0,1, -rect.x, -rect.y));
 
	var bmp:Bitmap = new Bitmap(bmd2);
 
	return bmp;
}

From BitmapData it creates Bitmap without whitespace. It will find whitespace automaticaly and removes it. If you want to insert Bitmap data instead of BitmapData, just edit this function slightly. This is just idea how to do such cropping. Enjoy, I hope it will be useful for someone.

When I first saw this game I’ve immediately fell in love with it. It is amazing how simple idea can make such a big effect. There are 20 levels and in each level you have to move object from 1 area to another. There are many obstacles and you can build your own vehicle, or whatever you want just to reach final area. Best of all is that you achieve your goal in many ways, it’s just up to you, how you build your physics “thing”. Author also offer saving of your scene, so you can paste link to your friend to watch your design. For sharing upir design, there is opened forum, where you can find many funny and incredible designs made by other players. You can find some interesting design at the end of the post. There is also possibility to Buy full version for $10 and you can play and buiod your custom scenes. But be aware, this game is sooo addictive. I just can’t wait to find free time to play game again.
